Hurricane Sandy Recovery

This week's snow storm has added to the suffering of those impacted by Hurricane Sandy as many remain without power or in shelters. Please consider helping as you can.

Financial Donations to Relief Organizations:

The State Offices of Emergency Management and the Relief Organizations offering assistance are asking the public to consider making financial donations first. See the video at the right for details.

In-Kind Donations Offers:

The best way for you to donate is to make your donation known by entering your offer into the National Donations Management Network ( where it will be visible to the State Emergency Management Teams and the Relief Organizations with which they work. These teams will evaluate the donation offers and will contact you directly to either accept or decline your offer. Please do not drop off donations without confirmation from the relief center - doing so can take precious time away from helping those in need.

If you need transportation for your donation you can make a request for transportation when you make your donation offer and then there are companies that will provide discounted/donated services to the relief organizations if they accept your offer.

Thank you again for trying to help those in need during this difficult time.

To view the specific items need by relief organizations, see the tab below on "How to Help" for live information being posted.
